It's a convenient budget place for every age if you need or want to stay in Nouméa - and it's the only one within the city, so even if you don't like, there is no other option.
It's situated on a hill with a nice garden, a well equipped communal kitchen and friendly as well as supportive staff.
You can store your luggage safely if you go on a trip and the central city is just a few minutes walk - but yes, you have to carry your luggage up the hill ...
It's easy to meet nice people as well as finding space for your own.
Fairly basic but as the only hostel on the island you can't complain! To be fair it has everything you need just don't expect super comfy beds and sockets and reading lights for all. Many long term visitors nearly all French. Hostel is on top of a steep hill.
Best (and only) budget option in Noumea. Same amenities at half the price of similar Australian establishments (plus all the French wine, cheese, and baguettes at the bottom of the hill).
